“Finding a New Rhythm”

November 11, 2020

10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Finding a New Rhythm is the great challenge of all peoples today since the universal experience of COVID 19. Recognizing we are all vulnerable and need to respond positively to the protocol of wearing masks and social distancing presents a reality that is uncommon. The focus of this day will be to explore the meaning of “post-traumatic stress.” We will use the model of the “Hero’s Journey” of separation, ordeal, and return.

As spiritual directors we need to recognize when people (as well as ourselves) are stuck. By this we mean are you living with fear or sadness are you scared or overwhelmed by what could be. When this becomes a pattern, the tools of recognizing the characteristics of PTSD which is a “normal response to an abnormal event” helpful!

We will reflect on our personal experience of the changes required of us as a result of the 2020 pandemic:

How and where in my life has this experience brought greater clarity?

What virtues and strengths have grown from this experience?

What within my former experience no longer meets the mandate of

my soul?

Where are you being invited as you move forward?
