PRESENTERS

Christ Anest is a certified spiritual director, having completed the 3-year program in the Art of Spiritual Direction at St. Joseph's Renewal Center.  She is a member of the Women's Team for the St. Paul's Cursillo and Retreat Program, has been part of Cursillo for over 12 years, and is on the Spiritual Team for the Women's Cursillo.  Chris has been familiar with the Al-Anon 12 Step program for many years and part of the Team for the ODAT Retreat for the past 10 years.


JoAnne Ayers is a certified spiritual director having completed the 3-year program in the Art of Spiritual Direction at St. Joseph's Renewal Center.  She is a member of the Women's Team for the St. Paul's Cursillo and Retreat program, has been part of Cursillo, and is on the Spiritual Team for the Women's Cursillo.  JoAnne has been familiar with the Al-Anon 12 Step program for many years and is part of the Team for the ODAT Retreat for the past 10 years.


Beth Barker has been in Church Ministry for over thirty years. She is the Director of the Cursillo for Women. For the past eight years, Beth has been involved with Religious Education and Youth Ministry. She is certified as a Spiritual Director and a Director of the 19th Annotation Retreat of the Spiritual Exercises. Presently, Beth is the Associate Director of St. Joseph Renewal Center.


Jim Barker is the President of Roanoke Sand and Gravel and a board member of Hope House Ministry.  He is the Director of St. Paul's Cursillo Men's Program in Brooklyn.  Jim completed the 3-year training program in the Art of Spiritual Direction through St. Joseph Renewal Center and has been practicing for the past five years.  he has been involved with the Men's Movement for over a decade.


Bea Constantine is a certified spiritual director, having completed the 3-year program in the Art of Spiritual Direction at St. Joseph's Renewal Center.  She is a member of the Women's Team for the St. Paul's Cursillo and Retreat Program, has been part of Cursillo for over 12 years, and is on the Spiritual Team for the Women's Cursillo.  Bea has been familiar with 12 Step programs for many years and part of the Team for the ODAT Retreat for the past 10 years.


Josephine Daspro, CSJ, D.Min. Director of St. Joseph Renewal Center, Brentwood, NY has worked in education, in parish ministry, as a Director of Religious Education, and as the Director of Spirituality and Adult Formation. She holds a Doctorate of Ministry degree in the area of Spirituality and Suffering, from Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, DC. Sister Josephine has given spirituality retreats for men and women and has extensive experience as a Spiritual Director and Supervisor, and is the Director of a Three Year Training Program in the Art of Spiritual Direction. She has trained experienced spiritual directors to give the 19th Annotation Retreat of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius as well as training experienced spiritual directors in becoming supervisors.


Georgeann Dau, Ph.D.  holds a doctorate in Transpersonal Depth Modern Psychoanalysis.  She is a graduate of the Pastoral Formation Program, Certified Spiritual Director, and Doctor of Natural Health.  She is certified to assess Myers Briggs Psychological Profiling.  Georgeann has a private practice in Huntington, NY  She has a passion for the psychological commentaries on the Gospels.


Ann Marie Dodd is a certified spiritual director, having completed the 3-year training program in the Art of Spiritual Direction at St. Joseph's Renewal Center.  She is a board member for the St. Paul's Cursillo and Retreat Program; having been a part of the Brooklyn Cursillo for over 30 years and the Director of the Women's Cursillo Program.  Ann Marie has been involved in Parish ministry over the years and is an active member in her parish.  Ann Marie has a Master's degree in 

Health Care Administration and works full time for the Northwell Health System, with over 20 years of experience in Practice Administration.  Currently, she is the Director of Training & Development for the Patient Access Center.


Michael Dunne is a graduate of the Pastoral Formation Institute, Rockville Centre, NY and completed the third year track in Liturgy. Michael coordinates the monthly “Men 2 Men” gathering at the Renewal Center. He is the former Northeast coordinator of Man Matters Spirituality, and a former board member of  Illuman, previously known as MALEs the men’s work arm of the Center for Action and Contemplation founded by Fr. Richard Rohr, OFM in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Additionally, Michael is a certified spiritual director and as a supervisor of spiritual directors and is also trained to direct the 19th Annotation Retreat of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Michael serves as a cantor in St. Mark’s parish, Shoreham, NY.  He and his wife Valerie have a blended family of five grown children and nine grandchildren.


Valerie Dunne is a certified Spiritual Director. She is experienced in directing the 19th Annotation Retreat of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Valerie is also trained as a Supervisor of Spiritual Directors and as a Director of Directed Retreats. She is a graduate of the Pastoral Formation Institute in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, NY with a third-year track in Pastoral Care of the Sick. Valerie and her husband Michael are involved in ministry to married couples and are members of St. Mark’s Parish in Shoreham. Currently, she works for the Sisters of St. Joseph in the Pastoral Care unit.  They are the proud grandparents of nine active grandchildren ranging in ages from 1 to 15 years.


Jean Lynch is a Spiritual Director and Supervisor of Spiritual Directors who has a MA in Theology from St. John’s University and an Advanced Certificate in Spirituality from Immaculate Conception Seminary, Huntington, NY. A facilitator of retreat and workshops designed to provide healing through prayer and reflection, she is certified in Inner Healing Prayer and Mandala Assessment through the National Institute of Inner Healing. A wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher of religion for many years, she created and has been facilitating the God Gives Us Songs in Our Sleep Program for twenty years.


Theresa McHugh is a second year student in the Spiritual Direction Program at St. Joseph's.  For the past eleven years she has been involved as a team member of the St. Paul's Cursillo Programs and currently serves on its Council.  She is Co-Director of the 12 Step retreat program for Women in Recovery.  Currently sober 14 years, she has organized and facilitated numerous groups focused on the program of Alcoholics Anonymous.  She is creator and moderator of a bible journaling group which utilizes both music and art.  Theresa serves as a lector at St. Barnabus Church, Bellmore.


Yvonne Weir is a certified spiritual director, having completed the 3-year program in the Art of Spiritual Direction at St. Joseph's Renewal Center.  She is a member of the Women's Spiritual Team for the St. Paul's Cursillo and Retreat Program, has been part of Cursillo for over 12 years and is on the Spiritual Team for the Women's Cursillo.  Yvonne has been familiar with 12 Step programs for man years and is part of the Team for the ODAT Retreat for the past 10 years.
