Come for a day of film-watching and faith sharing! The 2019 U.S. film “Just Mercy” in the morning followed by discussion.  Bring a bag lunch (hot/cold beverages will be provided) and after lunch  the 2004 Sweden/Denmark film “As It is in Heaven”  – followed by discussion and a Vigil Mass for Sunday.

A 2005 France, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium and Romania joint effort- “Joyeux Noel” gives us Christmas Eve 1914 during WW I when Scottish, German and French soldiers call a cease fire of sorts. We savor and share their hope as we prepare to celebrate Christ’s birth and pray for peace.

Facilitator: Larry Lewis, M.M., a Maryknoll priest since 1975, served in Taiwan and China. He was Rector of Maryknoll for 6 years and for 20 years coordinated a Project through which bishops in China and priests and sisters to the U.S. to earn graduate degrees to better serve the Church in China. Since 2003 Larry has offered retreats and taught spirituality throughout China. He served 4 years at the Cenacle Retreat Center, Ronkonkoma, and currently in Maryknoll’s Office of Society Personnel. He holds an MA in pastoral counseling and a Ph.D. in spirituality. He wrote the Misfit-Haunting the Human/Unveiling the Divine.
