St. Joseph's Renewal Center 2019-2020 Programs
"THE PARABLES OF JESUS"
First Saturday of the Month
12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
February 1, March 7, April 4, May 2 and June 6
Jesus taught in parables. Of this, there is no doubt.
Jesus spoke in parables to open up the minds of his disciples, the crowds,
and his opponents to the mind, the heart and the action of God.
To understand the preaching of Jesus, to be challenged by his message,
one must reflect on the parables.
This course will focus on the main elements of Jesus preaching as it is present in the parables.

SURRENDERING OUR STRESS
"GROW THROUGH WHAT YOU GO THROUGH"
Mondays - 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
February 24, March 30, April 27
Surrendering our Stress is a way of examining our own lives
and discerning how we may be stumbling blocks to ourselves, even when we are not aware of it.
We may be surprised when we discern what our own sources of stress are. As we become more conscious of this, we may find our reactions and ways of coping to be helpful in some situation and no so helpful in others.
We may find new ways of managing time to be a wonderful way of growing through the struggles of our lives.
You are invited to take the challenge!
Facilitator: Josephine Daspro, CSJ

Women’s Spirituality Retreat
“The Mystical Gift of Womanhood”
January 10 - 12 and January 24-26
(Hosted at the Cenacle Retreat Center, Ronkonkoma)
Meister Eckhart called all people to become responsible to be alert and alive in our senses to everything surrounding us, to see fully with our eyes and to hear fully with our ears. How do you listen to your inner voice? Begin by placing yourself gently in the presence of God. Believe yourself as cherished, embraced, and loved. In a quiet of your heart you will enter the mystery of God and the mystical gift of yourself. Are you ready to begin?
